President Trump today hailed the military’s “very, very successful” strike on ISIS fighters in Afghanistan, after the first-ever deployment of America’s largest non-nuclear bomb — known as the MOAB.

The Pentagon announced that the GBU-43B, a 21,000-pound bomb, was dropped on an ISIS tunnel complex in Nangarhar Province.

The GBU-43/B Massive Ordnance Air Blast (MOAB pronounced /ˈmoʊ.æb/, commonly known as the Mother of All Bombs) is a large-yield conventional (non-nuclear) bomb, (pictured, below) developed for the United States military by Albert L. Weimorts, Jr. of the Air Force Research Laboratory. At the time of development, it was touted as the most powerful non-nuclear weapon ever designed The MOAB — Massive Ordnance Air Blast — is also known as the “Mother Of All Bombs.” It was first tested in 2003 but hadn’t been used in combat until Thursday.

Many people are now questioning the rationale for the flurry of military maneuvers being authorized by the Trump Administration.

For example, as we speak Federal Investigators are drawing closer to “questionable” interactions between high-level Trump officialsand members of the Russian government.

GCHQ The British Intelligence first became aware in late 2015 of suspicious “interactions” between figures connected to Trump and known or suspected Russian agents, a source close to UK intelligence said. This intelligence was passed to the US as part of a routine exchange of information, they added.

Over the next six months, until summer 2016, a number of western agencies shared further information on contacts between Trump’s inner circle and Russians, sources said.

While the Russian investigation is now looming closer, we are now seeing Mr.Trump becoming more cynical about his approach as the days go on. “We have given [the military] total authorization,” But he refused to say whether or not if he had authorized the bomb drop. Trump then said ahead of a meeting with first responders. “Frankly, that’s why they’ve been so successful lately.”

So, the question that we must all ask is the effort for Trump’s latest bombing spree a global effort to overshadow the Russian Investigation? In the days ahead you be the judge. (glg)
