Ivanna Villanueva, Teen Charged With DUI Manslaughter, Wants Community Service Hours At Ultra Music Festival

DUI Manslaughter Teen Asks To Do Community Service At Ultra

A 19-year-old awaiting trial for DUI manslaughter after a night of partying on Miami Beach has asked the state if she can do community services hours at the Ultra Music Festival next weekend, CBS Miami reports.

Ivanna Villanueva’s attorney filed the request for her to cook for The Cordon Bleu during Ultra, which serves copious amounts of alcohol. Read the full report on CBS Miami.

Last October, the Coral Gables resident and University of Miami student was reportedly driving under the influence at 80 miles an hour down Le Jeune Road in Coral Gables around 4:30 a.m. when she rear-ended 68-year-old Eyder Ayala, 68. The teen had been drinking at the Fontainebleau, with receipts showing the purchase of tequila shots.

Ayala was driving home from her shift as manager at McDonalds when she was killed. According to Local10, she was the mother of five and grandmother of eight.

Villanueva was traveling so fast at the time of the crash that Ayala’s car trunk was forced to the front of the vehicle.

Toxicology tests revealed Villanueva had a .231 blood alcohol content, the Herald reports, which is three times the legal limit. She is under house arrest pending trial, where she will face charges of vehicular homicide, DUI manslaughter and carrying a false license.
