It's the rumor that just won't go away!
The diamond ring Katie Holmes has been spotted wearing on her left ring finger continues to fuel speculation the former "Dawson's Creek" star is secretly engaged to rumored boyfriend, Jamie Foxx.
But sometimes a ring is just a ring. Foxx and Holmes' representatives told The Huffington Post on Friday that the two were not engaged.
Holmes and Foxx have been linked since October 2013, though they've never admitted they're together. The actress was first spotted wearing the ring last year, though she's worn it more frequently since January 2016.
When rumors of a romance first started swirling, Foxx tried to it shut down in an interview with Entertainment Tonight.
“[The rumors] are one hundred percent not true," he said. "In fact, it’s quite hilarious because we simply danced at a charity event along with a lot of other people."
In March 2015, Foxx brushed off a photographer who asked him about his alleged romance with Holmes.
"Oh come on," said the actor. "You guys have been trying to get that to stick for three years."
Despite his repeated protests, rumors of their romance have persisted. And that might be due to the fact Us Weekly published a photo of the two “holding hands and getting their flirt on with a little game of footsie," and quoted a source claiming the two stars "have managed to keep their trysts a secret from all but their closest confidants.”
