Jennifer Garner’s Instagram is so powerful it’s landing the actress major movie deals.
Nearly a year ago, the “Alias” alum revealed she celebrates “Yes Day” ― one day a year where parents are required to answer “yes!” to their kids’ requests ― when she posted an exhausted selfie to mark the occasion.
Now, Netflix has picked up a comedy film, “Yes Day,” produced by and starring Garner, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The holiday and movie script are based on the children’s book of the same name by Amy Krouse Rosenthal.
Garner will reunite with her “Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day” director Miguel Arteta for the project with a script from Justin Malen, who penned the recent parent-themed comedy “Father Figures.”
Yes Day is a tradition in the Garner household five years running. This past year, the actress marked the occasion by pitching a tent in the backyard for her three kids, Sam, 6, Seraphina, 9, and Violet Anne, 12, who she co-parents with long-separated husband Ben Affleck.
“You’ll never need coffee more than the day after ‘Yes Day!’” she wrote in the caption.
In 2018, she said yes to being dropped down a weird slide contraption as her kids cheered, sharing the footage on Instagram with the hashtags #ideeplyregretthis and #mykidsmademedoit.
“I set up some rules. [I said], ‘We’re not going to buy things’ ― although we usually buy lottery tickets or something small ― but [I do] something I wouldn’t normally do,” Garner told Entertainment Tonight about the tradition. “So, we do it every year and it’s always something they can make me do what they want.”
She added: “I’m strict. I’m pretty strict. My daughter says I’m Amish. I prefer strict, but it’s nice to just have a day.”
Garner can next be seen in the limited HBO comedy series “Camping” from the minds of “Girls” creators Lena Dunham and Jenni Konner, which debuts in October.
