Jennifer Lawrence Picks Out Clothes The Way We Do

We always loved Jennifer Lawrence for her lighthearted, unfiltered nature, but we love her even more when she puts it to really good use. (A prime example: That time she took an unequivocal stand on body scrutiny: "What are you going to do? Be hungry every single day to make other people happy? That's just dumb.")

Turns out Lawrence has the same sensible, realistic approach to clothes. In a new interview with the Telegraph, she confessed that the glamorous outfit she had on wasn't hers... and she chose it for rather unglamorous reasons:

She is wearing a tight white sweater with Marc Jacobs black pants and crystal-encrusted black heels. A diamond pendant hangs around her neck and a large ring shines on her finger. "None of this is mine,” she says. "I have to give it back." Then she adds, with a laugh: "Make as much news of the jewelry as you can and then maybe I'll get it for free. And the clothes? I looked at my options, tried this on and it was comfortable and covered up my stomach roll when I sat down. So I went with it."

You can choose outfits for being trendy, fancy and myriad other reasons. But let's be real: Many women pick their clothes based on how they feel about their bodies at that very moment. Hence the all-too ubiquitous sentence: "I'm having a fat day."

Lawrence certainly has no need to cover up her stomach or any other part of her body, for that matter. But if there's one thing any woman can relate to, it's the desire to feel good about her body in the clothes she's wearing.

And, for what it's worth, J.Law, we really hope you got to keep the jewelry.

Let's get real:
