An anti-gay pundit's bizarre "Thanksgiving message" is making the blogosphere rounds.
Recalling the story of a Catholic resident assistant (RA) at a college who opted out of a "drag party" organized by an openly gay supervisor, Jennifer Roback Morse of the National Organization for Marriage's (NOM) Ruth Institute says she believes young people are being pressured to support lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) rights because they have openly gay friends and peers.
"There’s no TV message that is going to do the job of countering that type of influence," Roback Morse notes in the clip, which has since been posted by Think Progress and The Advocate, among other publications. "Somebody’s got to be there talking to young people one at a time in the places where they’re hanging out and doing the things that they’re doing."
Roback Morse -- who has authored books like "Smart Sex: Finding Life-long Love in a Hook-up World" and "Love and Economics: Why the Laissez-Faire Family Doesn’t Work," goes on to note, "This holiday season, when your young people come home from college, ask them about this. Ask them if they have a gay RA in their dorms. So please, talk to your young people about this and see what kind of pressure they may be under that maybe even they don’t realize how much it’s having an impact upon them."
