Jenny McCarthy: I Need To 'Censor Myself'

Jenny McCarthy has at least one New Year's resolution for herself: Be careful what you say.

"The View" co-host, who made her debut on the show in September, admitted on HuffPost Live that one of the hardest parts about transitioning to the daytime program was watching her words.

"I just have to learn how to censor myself [on 'The View']," McCarthy said on Monday, "because I went from late-night cable to daytime."

McCarthy hosted VH1's late-night program, "The Jenny McCarthy Show," from February to May in 2013. Upon making the switch to an earlier time slot, she said her fellow "View" co-hosts gave her fair warning about the drama that surrounds morning and daytime television hosts in the media.

"When I started 'The View' Whoopi said to me that she gets fired every week. Sherri said, 'Be prepared, I get fired every week,'" McCarthy said. "It makes it kind of interesting.... They also say that we're cat-fighting, and I think that it's kind of part of that -- why that show is interesting to watch."

McCarthy has certainly not been spared such rumors. In October, word spread that Barbara Walters and her colleagues were unhappy with McCarthy's performance and that her job was in jeopardy. But McCarthy said her co-hosts have been nothing but supportive, calling Whoopi Goldberg "a big sister" and referring to Walters as her "teacher" and "mentor."

"I feel like I'm now riding the bike instead of just having the training wheels on," she said.
