Nation correspondent Jeremy Scahill called out Brooke Baldwin after the CNN host made what he called "an egregious error" about drones.
Baldwin was interviewing former National Intelligence director Dennis Blair when she said, "We all know the name Anwar al-Awlaki. The drone strike that killed him also killed civilians — also killed his 16-year-old son.” Al-Awlaki's son, who was an American citizen, was killed in a separate attack.
"You just made an egregious error," Scahill tweeted at Baldwin on Thursday. "Anwar Awlaki’s son was NOT killed in same strike. He was killed 2 weeks later."
"[You] are saying he was "collateral damage" in the strike that killed his dad," the journalist, who has been a vocal critic of the Obama administration's drone program, added. "Not true at all. Scahill posted a clip of Baldwin making the claim, and asked for an on-air correction.

Later, she clarified her statement on Twitter and on-air.

"If I misspoke -- I am truly sorry. Was trying to ask a question on drone strikes on innocent civilians," Baldwin added.
