Los Angeles Lakers owner Jerry Buss is suffering from cancer and has been hospitalized at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in L.A., as first reported by RadarOnline.com. After the initial the Radar report, the Orange County Register reported that it had previously learned of Buss' cancer "but not published out of respect for the Buss family's wishes."

Buss is in the intensive care unit of the hospital with an undisclosed form of cancer, according to Mike Bresnahan of the Los Angeles Times. Bresnahan reports that the team declined to comment.

Per the reports, Lakers players have been calling with well-wishes and some have visited Buss in the hospital. RadarOnline.com wrote that they're "stopping by to see him in what they expect to be his final days."

Buss was hospitalized in the summer of 2012 and treated for dehydration. In 2011, he was hospitalized with blood clots in his leg.

Since Buss purchased the Lakers in 1979, the franchise has won 10 NBA championships. Buss, 79, was inducted into the Naismith Hall Of Fame in 2010.
