John F. Kennedy Auction To Make Available Hundreds Of Family Photos And Heirlooms (PHOTOS)

Buy Your Own Piece Of Kennedy Family History

Now you too can own your own little piece of Camelot.

Hundreds of photos, letters and other heirlooms, once belonging to the John F. Kennedy family, will be auctioned off next month. The 723 auction lots are already causing a stir among Kennedy fans ahead of the 50th anniversary of his assassination, with highlights including an original Air Force One bomber jacket and rare photos of the family’s most private moments. Even included is a birthday card from JFK's two-year-old son John Jr. to his father, signed "John xxooxxo."

The items come from the collection of David F. Powers, JFK's longtime family friend and advisor, according to John McInnis Auctioneers, the auction house selling the items.

It seems lately there’s been a renewed interest in the Kennedy family, and not just among certain country music stars. Last November, the National Park Service made the childhood home of JFK available for public tours.
