It's not unusual for homes in Los Angeles to be eligible for a game of six degrees of celebrity separation, and John Legend and Chrissy Teigen's new Beverly Hills residence certainly qualifies. Trulia reports that the modern-style home was once owned by Rihanna, who purchased it for $6.9 million in 2009 and then sold it at a loss in 2011 for $5.03 million. The 8,520-square-foot home, decorated by Kirk Nix of KNA Design, has five bedrooms and eight baths, space that is sure to come in handy now that the couple are expecting their first child.
Legend's former Los Angeles home was featured in Architectural Digest in 2013, when he and Teigen were engaged. Designer Don Stewart gutted the 2,200-square-foot 1960s residence in the Hollywood Hills and created a loftlike space complete with personal touches for the singer, such as a recording studio. The bicoastal couple's Stewart-devised Manhattan apartment was also profiled in AD.
Sliding glass doors in the sunken living room open up to the terrace.
There's room to spare for Legend's grand piano in the airy home, not to mention inspiring views.
The spacious kitchen is perfect for Teigen, who is a food blogger and cookbook author.
The master bedroom includes a dramatic light fixture and a gas fireplace.
This deluxe steam shower features bold tile.
A large window next to the metallic tile tub offers views of the city.
