Has punk rock come and gone? Not exactly. The punk rock band The Mekons is the only punk rock band still in existence and will be on tour later this year. I visited the music and painting studio of lead singer, Jon Langford, to see the life of an ongoing rocker.

I was surprised to learn about the similarities for Jon between painting and writing music and how much he continues to create. Also the lead member of the Chicago phenomenon The Waco Brothers, two bands aren't enough for Jon! He also creates music with his band, Skull Orchard, and has just finished a book with an enclosed CD, entitled Skull Orchard Revisited.

Check out this intimate look at the life and art of rocker Jon Langford, with some funny behind the scenes out takes as the end.

And if you missed the airings of Fear No ART Chicago on WTTW11, never fear! It re-airs one last time this Saturday, April 23, at 11:30 PM and features actresses Joan Cusack and Joyce Piven, puppeteer Blair Thomas and artist Tony Fitzpatrick. The underwriters and sponsors of this show are Disaster Planning and Response Art Rescue, Columbia College, Chicago Art Leasing and L.H. Selman Gallery of Fine Glass Paperweights.
