Jon Stewart Is Disappointed In Michael Grimm's Lame Scandal

During a segment on Wednesday's "Daily Show", Jon Stewart attempted to celebrate the arrest of Rep. Michael Grimm (R-N.Y.) as another example of "classic Northeastern corruption" like the Whitey Bulger case or Serpico scandal.

But when it was revealed Grimm's arrest earlier this week actually stemmed from alleged fraud at an Upper East Side restaurant called "Healthalicious," Stewart's hopes for another nefarious episode of Northeast crime were ultimately crushed.

"I'm sorry, Healthalicious?" Stewart asked in disbelief. "You don't even call it Healthalish? You're doing this at a health food joint?"

Yes, it turns out Grimm's 20-count indictment is actually quite tame for a lawmaker who recently threatened to throw a reporter off a balcony (and break him in half, no less) for simply broaching the subject of his federal investigation -- an incident which led Stewart to mockingly refer to Grimm as "Balcony Boy."

"Is this what Northeastern corruption has come to?" Stewart huffed. "Closing bridge lanes, and skimming a little off the top of a broccoli and lentil joint?"
