New Hampshire College Student Vanishes

Police in New Hampshire are seeking help from the public to find a missing 19-year-old college student.

Jonathan Zygmont, of Windham, was last seen at about 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, in Portsmouth near Prescott Park.

Zygmont is a first-year student, who lives on the University of New Hampshire campus.

According to UNH Police Chief Paul Dean, authorities do not have reason to suspect foul play, but are are concerned for Zygmont's well-being. The student, he said, is believed to be despondent because of difficulties he is having in a relationship.

"Based on the information we have werre eager to find Jonathan and make sure he's OK," UNH Police Chief Paul Dean said.

Zygmont is described as a white male, 5-foot-11 and 175 pounds. He was last seen wearing black shoes, khaki pants, and a brown sweatshirt with the word "Burton" on it in red lettering. He was carrying a black backpack

Officials at UNH are being assisted in the search by multiple law enforcement agencies in the Seacoast area, including Portsmouth Police, Kittery Police, Durham Police, N.H. Marine Patrol, and the U.S. Coast Guard.
