Tweens Jose Armando Rojas And Erica Lucero Run Away To Elope

Tween Lovers Run Away To Elope: Police

Ah, young love.

Two Connecticut sweethearts left their parents in a panic last weekend when they disappeared in an apparent attempt to elope, police say.

Jose Armando Rojas, a 13-year-old from New Haven, and Erica Lucero, a 12-year-old from East Haven, were reported missing Saturday, WTNH reported. The tween-aged lovers had packed clothes before leaving.

The couple was found safe Monday afternoon, though police are not disclosing where they were found, NBC Connecticut reported.

According to the Daily Mail, however, Officer David Hartman said that the children were not "found," but returned home on their own. Hartman noted that though state police issued a Silver Alert for the children, there was no active search because officials did not believe they were in danger.

"They were kids that packed a bag and left home and then returned," he said.
