Josh Penry Won't Seek Re-Election To State Senate

State Senate Minority Leader Josh Penry won't run for re-election this year, capping a six-year legislative career that has seen him wield unusual power for someone in the minority.

Penry hasn't said what he plans to do after his term expires in January 2011. But several close friends said they expect the Grand Junction Republican to take a pivotal spot in state government should his one-time rival, Scott McInnis, win the governor's race in November.
