'Justin Bieber Appreciation Day' Declared By Scott Stringer At J&R Electronics

Scott Stringer Randomly Decides Yesterday Was Justin Bieber Appreciation Day

Scott Stringer took it upon himself to speak on behalf of the 1.6 million people living in Manhattan to recognize a "very, very special proclamation" on Tuesday, declaring June 19 as the official "Justin Bieber J & R Appreciation Day."

Formally speaking in front of hordes of screaming fans, Stringer proudly announced, "So on behalf of the people of Manhattan and the power invested in me as Manhatan Borough President, I hereby declare ‘Justin Bieber J & R Appreciation Day’ in the Borough of Manhattan!”

18-year old Bieber was there to sign autographs for his new album, "Belieb." Many among his legion of teeny-bopper fans camped overnight for the chance to get a glimpse of the superstar.

Stringer was quickly rushed off the stage after the announcement, so that the Bieber-autograph signing mayhem could commence.

The arbitrary declaration seemed a bit toady to us, but Stringer defended his announcement and explained he doesn't "give proclamations to people I don’t belieb in."

Stringer also told Daily Intel, "From a borough president perspective it's great to recognize someone who is internationally known, but who comes to launch their new album right here in Manhattan. It shows the power of this city."

The Manhattan Borough President has a penchant for hanging with internationally known celebs, most notably including Scarlett Johansson, who has hosted multiple fundraising events for the likely mayoral candidate.

The Johansson clan have close ties with Stringer, as her twin brother has worked for his staff and grandma Johansson was a Stringer friend in the 1980's.
