Kate Middleton's Style Isn't Always Fabulous, Hence These Lame Outfits From 2012 (PHOTOS)

Even princesses make some fashion mistakes.

We love Kate Middleton as much as the next girl. (OK, way more than the next girl. Like, we put that next girl to shame.) But even we can recognize that the Duchess of Cambridge doesn't always score a perfect ten in the style department. Just in 2012, hiding amongst amazing moments like that red pleated Alexander McQueen dress at the queen's Diamond Jubilee and her favorite green Mulberry dress were some serious style clunkers.

For all Kate's fashion virtues, she has been criticized for one thing in particular: being boring. And as much as we love her, sometimes we're inclined to agree. She's been called "fuddy-duddy," "borderline boring" and "safe" for all those solid-colored, knee-length dresses; one editor remarked that, with so few accessories and colors, she often looks about 80 percent dressed.

Her outfit choices in 2012 only did so much to combat the criticisms. Below, a roundup of Catherine's lamest, most boring and ill-conceived outfits of the year.
