Welcome to the club, Katy Perry!
The musician has just officially been announced as the new easy, breezy, beautiful face of Cover Girl, joining an impressive roster of spokeswomen including Drew Barrymore, Sofia Vergara and Ellen DeGeneres. Come spring of 2014, you'll be seeing Perry gracing the brand's cosmetic campaigns, which will feature her sporting "bold new beauty looks" painted on by celebrity makeup artist Pat McGrath.
"In addition to music, I've always considered makeup to be a powerful creative avenue of self-expression," Perry said in a statement. "I'm honored to partner with Cover Girl and share more colors and textures of my approach to beauty to inspire my audience."
The "Roar" singer knows a thing or two about makeup -- it's not like your average gal is rocking rainbow-colored eyeshadow (and hair) on the reg. Plus, Katy has launched her own line of fake eyelashes as well as multiple perfumes and a line of nail polishes with OPI. Clearly, she's already a well-entrenched expert in the beauty industry. That said, the sneak peek we've gotten of the campaign seems a bit tame for the adventurous star.
We can't wait to see her turn it out for Cover Girl when the full campaign rolls out, but check out the first shot below.
