Kenichi Ebina Takes Flight In An Emotional Performance On 'America's Got Talent' Semifinals (VIDEO)

Kenichi Ebina Takes Flight In Emotional Performance On 'AGT'

Kenichi Ebina has been blowing the judges and viewers away for weeks by going big on "America's Got Talent," but this week he decided to go in a different direction. We've already seen him conquer video game end bosses, and even battle himself. This time he decided to tell a story with heart.

He said he wanted to express emotion this week, and he certainly achieved that. After seemingly dying -- or giving up on life -- an angel descended on the video screen behind him. This reinvigorated Kenichi, who began a series of intricate and joyous moves. A flashing light trick made it appear as if he was flying across the stage in the performance's penultimate element.

He then wrapped the experience by rising into the air on angel wings of his own. Hollywood Life's Avery Thompson was touched, writing that "there are truly not enough words to describe this magical performance.” She went on to add, "We’d be lying if we said there weren’t a few tears in our eyes. From the flashes of light that show him in the air to his amazing lift from an angel at the end, everything about it was riveting.”

Buddy TV's Ted Kindig has high hopes for Ebina. "I think he's great, and I hope he has something huge planned for the finals," he wrote.

"America's Got Talent" will crown its champion next week with new episodes on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 9 p.m. ET on NBC.
