Even Kermit The Frog Has Done The ALS Ice Bucket Challenge

Kermit the frog risked his life this week for a very good cause.

In a video posted to YouTube Wednesday, Kermit, pictured in what he described as "the hot, sticky swamp," announced that despite the hazards posed to his health, he was absolutely "ready and willing" to douse himself in ice water, all in the name of raising awareness for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, also known as ALS or Lou Gehrig's disease.

"I am ready to accept the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge from WWE [CEO] Vince McMahon -- in which, by the way, he referred to me as a pesky amphibian," Kermit says, disgruntled, in the video. "To which, I reply, 'Oh yeah?!' Being an amphibian, it turns out that… getting drenched by freezing cold water could actually make me go totally dormant and my heart could stop. But no matter! No matter at all."

"Half an hour ago, I had ten bags of ice delivered here," he continued, "and by now, they should've melted into several gallons of freezing cold water."

Over the last few weeks, the Internet has been overwhelmed with videos of celebrities, tech moguls, politicians and people everywhere doing the ALS ice bucket challenge. According to the ALS Association, more than $41 million has been raised so far for ALS research and patient care thanks to the viral campaign.
