Kevin Bacon Teases Changes For 'The Following' Season 2

Changes Ahead For 'The Following'

"The Following" may be a little different this season.

At a recent screening of the premiere episode for this season, series star Kevin Bacon talked about the changes that are ahead in Season 2.

“Well, a lot of the comments last year were about people wanting me to have a few more wins,” Bacon told TV Line about his character Ryan Hardy. “I kept getting beaten up, bad guys kept getting away from me, to the point where it got a little bit like, ‘Come on.’ So we’ve tried to give him a bit more success every once in a while, because you want the hero to have a little success.”

After the tragedy that Ryan lived through a year ago, Bacon states that these new episodes are “a bit more emotional, if that’s possible. We still have all the scares and the intensity, but there’s more stuff going on character-wise.”

But what about serial killer Joe Carroll (James Purefoy), who is very much alive after his presumed death in last season's finale? Will Joe and Ryan meet again sooner rather than later?

“We do come face to face, but it’s very fleeting,” promised Bacon.

Fleeting or not, that's a reunion that fans will not want to miss.

"The Following" airs Mondays at 9 p.m. EST on Fox.
