Aide Accused Of Leaking 'Kissing Congressman' Video Resigns

Leah Gordon, the staffer accused of leaking a video of Rep. Vance McAllister (R-La.) kissing his district scheduler, has resigned from the district office, The News-Star in Monroe, La., reported Wednesday.

McAllister's chief of staff, Adam Terry, confirmed to The News-Star that Gordon, who had served as McAllister's Monroe District office manager, "resigned on her own" and wasn't fired.

Earlier this month, West Monroe minister Danny Chance accused Gordon of releasing the video. Terry confirmed to the News-Star on Wednesday that Gordon is one of three people who had access to the video, which showed the married congressman canoodling with staffer Melissa Anne Hixon Peacock, who is also married and resigned last week. However, Terry said he is unwilling to accuse Gordon of leaking the footage without seeing proof.

“We won’t terminate or discipline any employee until after our internal investigation of the security breach is complete,” Terry told The News-Star, as he emphasized that Gordon was not fired.

McAllister has said he has no plans to resign, despite calls for him to do so by Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal (R), the state party chairman and others.
