College Senior, Kyle Braver, Is Surprised With Tickets To The World Series (VIDEO)

College Senior's Surprise From Friends Is A Home Run

Kyle Braver cheered along with the rest of the Bay Area when the San Francisco Giants defeated the Detroit Tigers in Game 1 of the World Series. The diehard Giants fan in Davis, Calif., however, had no idea that he would find himself at AT&T Park the next day.

According to MSN, Braver, a senior at UC Davis, snagged a coveted ticket to Game 2 of the World Series thanks to his co-workers and friends who wanted to show him their appreciation.

Braver works over 30 hours a week at the Coffee House at UC Davis to pay his way through school, while taking 21 units as a full-time student. He's also just an all-round "good guy," according to his friends.

“He’s a genuine person, like he genuinely cares. When he does things for you it’s not because he wants something back, he cares about people. He loves people,” Ashley Smith, a friend of Braver's, told CBS.

"He is one of the nicest, most genuine and hardworking people I have ever met. He works 30+ hours a week, covers extra shifts for coworkers and never stops smiling.. all while balancing the loads of homework that result from 21 quarter system units. He saves every paycheck to pay his tuition and rent and rarely ever treats himself. He is the biggest SF Giants fan around and all of us at the coffee house know how much he deserves the world. He deserves something amazing to happen to him for all that he willingly does for everyone else," a friend and co-worker, Kristin, told Sac & Co.

Braver's friends and co-workers collected close to $500 for the standing room-only ticket, plus money for transportation.

“Going to the game? Outside of certain family things like my little brother being born, this is the best thing that’s ever happened to me,” Braver told CBS.

“There are 42,000 people in the stadium and you feel like you’re the same person and you feel like it’s just an incredible communal experience. And the energy there, it’s something I can’t even explain,” he added.
