This law of attraction thing seems so easy on the surface, and it is a pretty straightforward concept. But as you got deeper into your "work," you may have discovered getting into a space of trust, allowing, detachment and what have you, is easier said than done.

And that's true because this is a very different way of operating. We have all sorts of resistance that complicates things. It's okay if you're struggling... it's normal. You're not doing anything wrong; you're not incapable of changing your reality. Here are a few common issues that may be messing with you:

Refusal to Feel Better Without a "Reason"

If we attract based on our current energy (predominant thoughts, feelings and beliefs) we quickly come to realize that finding a way to feel better now, and not be so bummed about our current reality, is a non-negotiable.

But feeling better without a solid reason can be challenging... our mind fights us on this, and it feels very justified in feeling badly, and focusing on what we don't like, as if somehow that will make it go away. But we focus on expands, and things can't change for the better in any significant way, if we keep insisting on turning our attention to "what is."

It is understandable to not like certain things and have negative feelings about them... the feelings alert us that something is off and helps us figure out what we want instead. But there has to be that willingness to not pay as much attention to that, and instead focus on what you want instead, knowing that it can come into your reality, knowing the "order" has been placed.

If we maintain an insistence we will not feel better until circumstances change to our liking, we will not harness the power of the law of attraction as fully as we can, and we'll really slow things down big time.

You don't have to pretend your life is perfect and that you have what you want. You just have to think about how you would act, knowing what you want is coming, and that what you don't like, doesn't have to remain. It might not go away overnight, but it will change. How differently would that feel? How much easier would it be to handle the unwanted?

Worrying Feeling Better Will Cancel the "Order"

Our mind is funny... it is very resistant to us feeling better, even if our "stuff" isn't here yet, because it equates this to giving up on what we want. And that freaks it out big-time my friends. For some reason, we believe it is the "wanting" that brings things into our reality.

Perhaps because we have been ingrained with a belief there is some higher power calling the shots, and we hope it will take notice of our "wants" and throw us a bone. We worry it will peek in on us feeling better now and conclude we must not want these things anymore.

Who knows? Regardless, we are very reluctant to allow ourselves to be happy in the absence of the variety of things we have decided are necessary for our happiness. There is just this fear it will somehow keep it from us.

But when you understand how the law of attraction works, you realize this is silly. The more you are feeling happy, peaceful or whatever other warm, fuzzy feeling, the more things you will attract that will feel just like those feelings.

Feeling better now will not cancel the "order." There are no negative consequences manifesting-wise to feeling happier now... trust me on that. Being happier is the whole reason you were drawn to this concept in the first place, and as you start working more consciously with your energy, you will make the most helpful realization you can get into a better-feeling state anytime.

Not Realizing What You Are Truly After

When we are insistent our manifestation must look a specific way, and the desire our mind has cooked up, is the exact thing we want, no exceptions, boy do we pinch off that flow of delicious energy that makes us a match to all we desire -- and ultimately, what we desire is to feel a certain way, no exceptions.

And as such, whatever specific thing you want now is just one representation of that feeling. Again, your mind will freak out, thinking you are giving up on what you want, but that's not true.

You can have whatever it is you want... the husband, the kids, more money, the better job. But no matter how specific your desire, you want it because it will make you feel a certain way. And in realizing this, you can relax a bit about manifesting it, because you know lots of things can come into your reality that can make you feel these feelings too.

Again, this doesn't mean you are giving up on what you want, but acknowledging this helps reduce the attachment to whatever it is you want to manifest, it helps reduce that desperate sense of "need" you likely have around this desire, thinking it is absolutely crucial for your happiness.

Trying to Make Logical Sense of Something We Probably Will Never Fully Understand

A teaching like the law of attraction naturally triggers a variety of excellent questions... questions that may not ever be able to be answered to the satisfaction of our logical, "proof-loving" mind. A lot of spiritual teachings don't make a lick of sense "logically," but that doesn't mean they are total bull automatically.

Not everything can be explained in this fashion. We have to get comfortable with the idea that we may not be able to understand everything fully, and receive an explanation. We have to be willing to concede we don't know everything there is to know about the nature of reality. We have to stop being so arrogant, if I may be so frank.

The law of attraction delves into some pretty heavy stuff, like the purpose of our existence, and the inner workings of this vast Universe. Our "humanness" definitely limits our perspective to some degree, and again, we may not be able to unearth all the answers we seek, or get the type of "proof" we crave. Maybe not having the answers and relying on faith, is part of the plan... who knows?

My belief in this concept did not stem from finding definitive answers to these questions or finding explanations that satisfied my rational mind. It came from being open to the teachings, which resonated with me strongly on an intuitive level, and seeing the changes in my experience, over and over and over again.

If something about the idea we create our own reality resonated, even just a little, be open to learning about it, and applying what you learn. See what your experience shows you. Don't worry so much about understanding every nook and cranny, trying to 'make sense' of it, or examining every situation that happens on this Earth through the lens of these teachings, and trying to figure out why EVERYTHING happens as it does.

I am willing to bet you became interested in the law of attraction because you wanted to improve your life somehow... start there and worry about the other stuff later.

Hope you enjoyed this post and found it helpful. You can have what you want... know that is true. Be patient and compassionate with yourself.
