Teacher's Aide Accused Of Inappropriate Contact With Student With Autism

LeShawn Hill, a seven-year employee of Boston Public Schools, is accused of "inappropriate conduct" with a nonverbal student with autism this week, The Boston Globe reports.

The teachers aide from Harbor Pilot Middle School is also under suspicion for a similar situation last year, authorities say according to the Globe's report.

After being put on administrative leave, Hill was arrested at his home, accused of stealing several computers from the school, and will appear in Dorchester Municipal Court on a misdemeanor charge of lewd and lascivious conduct.

The boy's mother told WBZ-TV that Hill and her son, who doesn't speak, were found in a room "with their pants open" by a teacher who reported the incident.

"He was in there with another teacher, when another teacher walked into the break room," the mother told the station in a separate report. "The teacher was there with his pants opened."

Hill is reportedly a paraprofessional who specializes in special needs students.

"All I know is that my son just have to go through the whole STD thing," his mother told WBZ-TV in a separate report. "Take HIV medicine for the next 28 days, and go through the whole mental emotional trauma."

Police Commissioner Edward F. Davis told the Globe that when situations like this arise, authorities must be "agressive" in making sure they uncover the full extent of the crimes. He went on to add that they will stop at nothing to bring about justice.

"We will work tirelessly until we get all the facts on the table in this and hold people accountable for this behavior," Davis said.
