Lewis Dunk Own Goal: Brighton Players Allows Embarrassing Own Goal Against Liverpool (VIDEO)

Embarrasing Own Goal

A cursory glance at the scoreboard might leave someone thinking that Liverpool put on a brilliant offensive display against Brighton en route to a 6-1 victory, the club's biggest win since September 2009. But a closer look and you'd notice that Brighton was just as prolific -- when it came to scoring on their own net.

Brighton surrendered an incredible three own goals in the 5th round FA Cup match at Anfield, the third of which was one of the worst we've seen in a long, long time.

In the 73rd minute, with Liverpool already ahead 4-1, Luis Suarez crossed the ball from the left wing. The ball sailed over the goalie and dropped to Seagulls defender Lewis Dunk. Dunk tried to play if off his chest and then clear it, but he mishandled the ball and accidentally knocked it into his own net with his knee.

Liverpool earned a sixth round match against Stoke, but they should probably thank Brighton for the help.
