JeffCo Fire Prompts More Than 900 Pre-Evac Notices

A fire burning in Coal Creek Canyon prompted pre-evacuation orders to be sent out to 920 phone numbers in the area around noon on Thursday.

Shortly after the evacuation notices went out, JeffCo Sheriff's Office tweeted that the fire was close to 75 percent contained:

7News reports that at least one home has burned. It's still unclear if the fire began at the home and spread or if it began elsewhere.
