It seems like just yesterday when we discovered TV journalist Lisa Ling was pregnant. Now she's posing with her newborn daughter Jett -- born March 9 -- in the latest issue with Us Weekly and gushing poetic about life as a new mom.
The magazine reports that Ling also underwent a C-section during birth because of complications with her daughter's umbilical cord.
"When they held her up, it was probably the most triumphant moment in our marriage," Ling told the publication about the delivery experience with her husband of six years, Paul Song. "It was like, 'We made that screaming beast and we're responsible for her for the rest of our lives!' It was an incredible bonding moment.'"
The words ring especially true given what Ling told Marie Claire magazine in 2011 -- that her marriage to Song, an oncologist, hadn't always been easy. "People always said, 'You're such an impressive couple professionally.' We'd look at each other and think, we really screwed up our personal life. We never made 'us' a priority," Ling said.
The "Our America" host wed Song in 2007 in a lavish Asian-themed ceremony in Los Angeles.
