Lockdown Bar's NATO Burgers: Special Menu Items Include Arson, Citizens Arrest Themes

Chicago Bar Debuts NATO-Themed Burgers Before Summit

Amid talk of lockdowns in the Loop as Chicago prepares to host the NATO Summit, an aptly named bar and grill in the Ukrainian Village is debuting a tongue-in-cheek menu for the anarchists among us.

Concoctions include "The Arson Burger," which is packed with jalapeno, roasted scotch bonnet peppers, jack cheese and a house-made hot sauce, "The Federales Burger" with chorizo, smoked pepper mayo and a fried egg, and the "Citizens Arrest," billed as "one last savory meal before 'lockdown," which allows patrons to choose any burger patty (angus, buffalo, turkey, chicken or veggie) and any combination of toppings for their final meal.

The snarky menu items foreshadow the extreme security measures underway in advance of the three-day summit, which will include shutting down stretches of Lake Shore Drive and the Kennedy Expressway, closure of many of the city's museums and surrounding areas on Sunday, and various other road blockades.
