After the deeply-discounted $75 "souvenir" passes sold out in a "secret sale" held Thursday, Lollapalooza 2013 Early Bird tickets are gone — as are the regular three-day passes.
The festival tweeted less than an hour after the sale started:
(UPDATE 4/1/13: See the list of confirmed Lollapalooza 2013 acts below.)
Early bird passes, which offered three-day admission at a discount of $200, sold out in six minutes according to DNAinfo Chicago. The regular-priced three-day tickets became available after the early bird sellout and were exhausted within the hour.
Last year, the 750 "secret sale" tickets sold out in less than a minute, according to NBC Chicago.
Individual one-day passes at $95 each will go on sale when the full lineup is officially revealed April 9.
News of the discounted sales broke earlier in March just as new lineup confirmations surfaced.
Along with Greg Kot of the Chicago Tribune's previous report Mumford & Sons, Phoenix, Vampire Weekend and the Killers will be among the headliners, Consequence of Sound has rounded up even more confirmed acts — with many of the bands making the confirmations themselves.
While many of the bands confirmed so far are Lolla veterans, there are still few female (or black, or Latino...) artists on the bill.
The smaller, competing Pitchfork Music Festival announced its full lineup hours after the Lollapalooza sale, and in doing so, dashed a few hopes that Lolla might score a few strong undercard performers. Instead, Pitchfork appears to have scooped prospective Lolla players like Solange, M.I.A. and El-P.
