Loveland Art Controversy Makes Its Way To Fox And Friends (VIDEO)

Controversy over an art exhibit at the Loveland Museum/Gallery made its way to the set of Fox News on Monday, when Loveland city councilor Daryle Klassen appeared on Fox and Friends.

The issue stems from a work at the Museum by Stanford Professor Enrique Chagoya called "The Misadventure of the Romantic Cannibals." The multi-panel work, which has been on display since September 10, depicts Jesus Christ receiving oral sex from a man, among other irreverent images involving Christian figures.

Some Loveland residents began picketing the museum on Friday, bearing signs that read "No tax dollars for pornography," "This is a hate crime, and "We have rights to protect our families."

"The whole idea of the work is to express my personal anxieties about the church and religious institutions," Chagoya told the Loveland Reporter-Herald on Saturday.

"It's not about faith and belief. Personally, I respect those beliefs. I was raised a Catholic. I believe that Christ is about love, and about sharing."

On Fox and Friends, Klassen said he objected to the use of taxpayer dollars to support the exhibit.

"The museum is almost solely supported by Loveland tax dollars, so the source of the dollars for this are public dollars. That's the important point," Klassen said.
