Common received a warm welcome home this week for a special screening of his new movie, LUV, which also stars Michael Rainey Jr., Meagan Good, Charles S. Dutton, and Danny Glover.
LUV is a heartfelt drama focusing on an 11-year-old boy who spends a day with his troubled uncle (portrayed by Common) going through the streets of Baltimore and ultimately learns about himself and life. Although suffering from a problematic script and predictability, a fantastic cast of actors helps bring depth and urgency to this drama. LUV hits theatres on November 9.
The Public Hotel hosted fashion line AZZA's one year anniversary (benefitting the Chicago Children's Choir) the same evening as the LUV screening. Debuting her fashion line one year ago on the runways of New York Fashion Week, Azeeza Kahn continues to dazzle Chicago and the world with her opulent creations. AZZA's signature vibrant colors and intricate embellishments were on show throughout the celebration as guests donned their favorite AZZA pieces and models were outfitted in the latest collection.
