Alberic Prados, A.K.A. Puerto Rican Drag Performer Zahara, On New 'Mala Mala' Documentary

From Law Student... To Drag Queen

Drag performer Alberic Prados, who is also known as Zahara, joined HuffPost Live this week to talk about "Mala Mala," a new documentary the primarily focuses on Puerto Rico's transgender community, which is set to premiere at the 2014 Tribeca Film Festival.

"I identify myself of a boy who dreams of being Marilyn Monroe or ["Mean Girls" antagonist] Regina George," Prados, who is also studying law in his native Puerto Rico, said.

Prados had originally been planning to quit drag to focus on studying law, but added, "I felt like [I had] an empty space in my heart."

"I want to the world to be educated," Prados said. "There are people who are different...transgender people, drag queens...we all [have] the same vision: to be happy."
