Marcus Mariota Interception Streak Ends In Oregon-Arizona Game On First Play From Scrimmge (VIDEO)

WATCH: Oregon Star's Incredible Streak Ends On 1st Play

Oregon star quarterback Marcus Mariota had gone 12 straight games and 353 passes without throwing an interception. On the first play from scrimmage against Arizona on Saturday, the sophomore's streak ended... in amazing fashion.

Following a 40-yard return on the opening kickoff, Mariota looked for receiver Bralon Addison by the left sideline with a quick pass. But the ball deflected off Addison's hands and into the air. With the ball heading out of bounds, Arizona's Shaquille Richardson dove and tossed it back in play. The ball deflected off Addison again and into the hands of Arizona linebacker Scooby Wright for the interception.

The Wildcats capitalized on the turnover with a touchdown. After a quick three-and-out for Oregon, Arizona scored again to take a 14-0 lead.

Mariota threw another interception in the fourth quarter as the Wildcats blew out the fifth-ranked Ducks, 42-16.

"It hurts," Mariota said after the game, per the Associated Press. "I haven't been blown out like this in my life."

Mariota's streak set a Pac-12 record, per Oregon's assistant athletic director Andy McNamara. The last time he threw an interception came in Oregon's loss to Stanford in November 2012.

While some on Twitter were stunned that Mariota's streak ended, they seemed more amazed with how it happened. Can you blame them?
