Mardy Fish Hits Line Judge With Serve At Wimbledon (VIDEO)

WATCH: Line Judge Gets Served

The uniform for a line judge at Wimbledon includes a blue blazer with white accents and a pair of light-colored pants. There is a sweater with the same color scheme. All together, it's quite a smart look and adds to the atmosphere at the All-England Club.

But after what happened to this line judge, they might want to add a helmet or a set of protective goggles.

Mardy Fish was serving against France's Jo-Wilfried Tsonga early in their fourth-round match at Wimbledon when a female line judge was stuck in the face by the American's 118-mph serve. The shot whirled past Tsonga and appeared to hit the judge in the right eye, but not before she was able to audibly rule a fault.

After Tsonga quickly went to check on her, the judge was led off the court to applause from the crowd, despite initially refusing a replacement for herself. No further injury was reported, but the match was later postponed due to rain.

This isn't the first instance of a line judge injury this year. Just last month David Nalbandian injured a judge after kicking a small barrier in frustration.

Perhaps there could be shin guards issued with those helmets..
