Martha McSally Defeats Ron Barber In Arizona

Retired Air Force Col. Martha McSally (R) was declared the victor in her race against Democratic Rep. Ron Barber Wednesday in the nation's last uncalled midterm election race of the year.

McSally, who lost to Barber by 2,500 votes in 2012 in Arizona's 2nd District, was considered one of the Republican Party's best recruits of the cycle. She beat Barber by just 167 votes this year.

The race became the 13th pickup for the GOP, resulting in a historic 247 seats for Republicans in the House of Representatives.
