'Masters Of Sex' Trailer: Showtime Gets Ready For Action (VIDEO)

This Is VERY Not Safe For Work

With Showtime's racy new drama "Masters of Sex" right around the corner, Showtime has released a trailer that lets viewers know exactly what they're in for.

Based on actual 1950s events and figures, "Masters of Sex" follows Virginia Johnson (Lizzy Caplan) and William Masters (Michael Sheen) as two researchers on a mission to understand the science of sex. But from the trailer above, it's obvious the line between business and pleasure is easily blurred.

"The study of sex is the study of the beginning of all life!" Masters says matter-of-factly, shortly after getting flustered when he asks Johnson what an orgasm feels like for a woman.

Beau Bridges, who co-stars as a doctor on the show, admitted to having a very awkward first day.

"The first thing I have to do is peer at a woman's vagina through a dildo while she masturbates ... and it's outfitted with a magnifying glass," he told HuffPost TV. "The poor woman who had to have her legs up in stirrups, I couldn't see her face because they had up a cloth ... and then my wife and I are out to dinner in New York, where we filmed, and this lady comes up and was very nice and friendly, 'Oh it's so nice to see you!' and it was this woman that I'd been staring at her crotch all day! [Laughs.] I said, 'I hardly recognize you!'"

"Masters of Sex" premieres on Sun., Sept. 29 at 10 p.m. ET on Showtime.
