Matt Nathanson's 'Kinks Shirt' Music Video Features Transgender Love Story

WATCH: Trans Love Story At The Center Of Rocker Matt Nathanson's New Video

Matt Nathanson is back with a video for his single "Kinks Shirt" and it's got an awesome queer twist.

The clip features a love story involving a transgender individual and -- refreshingly -- approaches the relationship in an incredibly nonchalant way.

"The thing I love about this video is that it shows two people in love and it never makes a big deal out of the fact that one is trans," said Nathanson in a statement to The Huffington Post. "The video is touching and funny, while at the same time making a very definite statement about equality and acceptance. Let people be who they are... the only way forward in this life is with acceptance and equality for everyone, period."

Nathanson has a history of positively representing the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community through his music videos. Last year he released "Modern Love," which highlighted and celebrated gay and lesbian couples in San Francisco.

The musician is also slated to take part in Cyndi Lauper's "Home For The Holidays" event in December alongside Pink, in an effort to raise money to combat homelessness among LGBT youth and the Forty To None organization.
