Matthew Perry Comedy Awards 2012: Star Says Women Have Always Been Funny (VIDEO)

Matthew Perry On Funny Women

In an infamous 2007 Vanity Fair article, the late Christopher Hitchens spared no ink in explaining "Why Women Aren't Funny." But after Sunday night's 2012 Comedy Awards, it's clear that at least one notable funny man disagrees with the assertion.

First posted by BuzzFeed, a video clip from the second annual installment of the Comedy Central awards show features Matthew Perry taking on the idea in front of the audience.

"This year we saw many hilarious performances by women - as well as many idiotic articles from men about how women suddenly became funny," Perry said. "This wasn't the year women finally became funny, this was the year men finally pulled their heads out of their asses."

Cleverly put, indeed. And most likely a comment that will make women love Matthew Perry even more.
