WATCH: Rookie Drilled In Face, Gets RBI

A lot has happened to Houston Astros rookie Max Stassi in just two career games. A day after recording two hits and a baserunning blunder in his Major League debut, the 22-year-old took a pitch to the face.. and recorded his first career RBI.

With the bases loaded in eighth inning and Houston down 4-3, Texas reliever Tanner Scheppers hit Stassi with a 96-mph fastball .

Stassi managed to stay on his feet as the team trainer rushed out to attend to him. He walked off the field with the trainer holding his arm. The hit-by-pitch drove in a run to tie the game at four.

According to Julia Morales of CSN Houston, Stassi was yelling and trying to fire up his teammates as he walked into the clubhouse. The Rangers went on to win 5-4.

"That is a very painful way to get your first RBI," Astros manager Bo Porter said after the game, per the Associated Press.

Jose de Jesus Ortiz of the Houston Chronicle reported that Stassi stayed overnight at a local hospital.

Just hours earlier, Braves outfielder Jason Heyward fractured his jaw when he was struck by a pitch against the New York Mets.
