WASHINGTON -- This weekend, it's all about burgers, beer and barbecue as America celebrates Memorial Day with a few of its favorite foods.

Memorial Day traditionally heralds the unofficial start of summer: swimming pools open, the school year winds down and Americans collectively get grilling.

A 2012 Weber survey revealed nearly three-fourths of American grill owners fire up the grill on Memorial Day. What are they cooking? "[H]amburgers (73 percent), chicken (41 percent) and steak (40 percent)," Weber's survey reported.

With all of the Memorial Day events in Washington, you'll need to make sure you have ample fuel. From a crab feast on 14th Street to a big bucket of fried chicken in Logan Circle (and yes, even a Virginia fruit festival!), here's a sampling of what to expect on your plate this weekend.
