Miami Animal Adoptions: Dogs, Cats, Exotic Birds, Horses And More (PHOTOS)

The Statue of Liberty asks for the weak, tired and poor, and this Fourth of July week, animals looking for homes are no different.

Show your allegiance to shelter animals and adopt an adorable dog like Spike or a sweet kitten like Ms. Ann, both found as strays wandering the streets. Those who prefer pets that can roam their property might want a horse -- and there's plenty of those at the South Florida SPCA, like Baby and Ricky.

For out of the ordinary animals, the South Florida Wildlife Center has birds, snakes, farmyard animals and lizards. Gonzo the macaw was brought to the center with an overgrown beak, and needs a home filled with love and understanding of his special needs.
