Miami Indie Cinema Roundup: Arthouse Films July 30 To August 5 (VIDEOS)

Central Florida...Royalty?

This week's independent and foreign films are tailor made for Francophiles.

In "Farewell, My Queen," based on the best-selling novel by Chantal Thomas, Diane Kruger stars as Marie Antoinette, kept company by a special lady in waiting in her final days.

In "The Intouchables," a French aristocrat becomes a paraplegic after an accident and reluctantly hires someone to help him with daily tasks. He's bored by those with fancy degrees and experience, and instead chooses a former prisoner, who finally treats him as a man and not an invalid.

Filmed right here in Florida, the documentary "The Queen of Versailles" follows billionaire couple Jackie and David Siegel who are trying to build the largest house in America. Right before it premiered at Sundance, the film subjects sued the filmmaker for defamation.
