It took him a while, four years to be precise, to get it exactly like he wanted, and it paid off. Singer-songwriter Michael Kiwanuka's sophomore album Love & Hate made it to number one in the UK. The record follows his successful debut Home Again, but this time around, he digs a little deeper. Kiwanuka, who is from Ugandan descent, delves into his early struggles with identity and people's expectations of him because of his race. "I like to be polite and guard myself, say the right things and not upset anyone. But I knew I had to, that was the thing that was going to make my music relevant."
