Michelangelo Signorile On 'The Young Turks': Richard Grenell Was Used 'As Cover'

WATCH: Michelangelo Signorile Visits 'The Young Turks' To Talk About Richard Grenell

HuffPost Gay Voices Editor-at-Large Michelangelo Signorile visited Current TV's "The Young Turks" last night to chat about the controversy surrounding Richard Grenell.

Hired by presidential candidate Mitt Romney three weeks ago to serve as his foreign policy spokesman, the openly gay Grenell resigned earlier this week due to what many claim was pressure from Christian conservatives who were unhappy with the political strategist's sexuality.

Signorile has written several blogs about the presidential hopeful's perhaps surprising choice and last night he discussed Grenell's resignation with "The Young Turk"'s Cenk Uygur saying in part, "[Romney] thought he could get some mileage out of this, really play it to independents and make him look like a moderate. He was using him as cover now that he’s moving into the general election... He’s been exposed."
