A former teacher at a North Carolina high school who is accused of sexually abusing a student has the victim's name tattooed on her, according to police.
Michelle Smith White was charged in July with taking indecent liberties with a student and engaging in a sex offense with a student. Documents released Friday revealed startling new evidence in the investigation.
WRAL reports that the teacher had a tattoo of the victim's name, as well as her initials and an "artist rendering which would be symbolic of the juvenile," according a police affidavit.
Police said that White also had framed photos of the girl, as well as a binder full of handwritten notes from her husband to the victim.
Durham police say the ex-dance teacher befriended a 15-year-old female student at Charles E. Jordan High School in 2012 and eventually started sexually abusing her.
WRAL reports that the teacher allegedly communicated with the victim even after her parents asked her not to contact her. Court documents state that texts exchanged between the student and White contained the word "threesome" and alluded to the involvement of White's husband. It is unclear if he has been charged.
White taught dance for grades 9 through 12 at the school from 1997 until she resigned in April, according to WNCN. She is scheduled to appear in court Nov. 5.
