Milla Jovovich Visits Injured 'Resident Evil' Extra In Hospital

Yesterday's "Resident Evil: Retribution" stage collapse left 16 people injured, and the film's star Milla Jovovich headed to a Toronto hospital Tuesday night to visit one zombie extra who was in "serious pain."

"I jst saw akiko (who goes by April btw) and she's in a lot of pain. She injured her back. Thank god she's moving her hands and feet and not in critical condition," the actress Tweeted Tuesday. "I promised her that I would come and see her every week while I'm here to give her support and strength in her recovery. I can't believe she said she wants to come back and finish her part, she's incredible."

It was back to work for the rest of the cast and crew Wednesday as they prepared to move past the unfortunate accident, which occurred when a wheeled platform unexpectedly shifted while actors were being moved around a soundstage.

"Well, 'camp evil' is slowly waking up after such a tough day yesterday," Jovovich wrote Wednesday morning, adding, "Thanks again for all your kind messages for our sweet, amazing zombie extras! We couldn't m ake these films w out their hard work and enthusiasm."

"Resident Evil: Retribution" is the fifth movie based on the popular video game, and is set for a September 14, 2012 release.
