Mindfulness: Oprah and Young Thought Leaders on the Importance of the Present Moment (VIDEO)

WATCH: The Importance Of Living In The Present Moment

Recently on "Super Soul Sunday," Oprah sat down with three wise 30-somethings poised to become the next generation of spiritual thinkers: Marie Forleo, Gabrielle Bernstein, and TheDailyLove's Mastin Kipp.

"How we bring spirituality into our everyday is [by] being present," says Marie in this clip.

Oprah adds, "I think we’ve lost presence to a great extent" -- and the group wholeheartedly agrees.

"A really easy way for us to get back in spirit and connection with people is to be present with them," says Marie. "If we’re having a conversation, put down the phone. If you’re sending an email, don’t be on the phone at the same time."

The young thought leaders move on to discussing the role that fearful and negative thoughts can play in your life -- and how those two things are ultimately there for a purpose. Mastin says, "There is a trend that I see where people believe that if they have a negative thought or if they have a fearful thought, that they're not spiritual enough, they're doing something wrong, or that they're not in alignment. And I think that's total hogwash... I think that negative thoughts exist for a purpose. Fearful thoughts exist for a purpose... If you go in to the cave of your fearful thoughts, of your negative thoughts, and understand why they’re there and shine a light on it, it can really illuminate them."

No matter what you are doing, being present is key, says the group. "Wherever I am, I want to be there," says Marie. "Whether I’m stuck in traffic, if I’m at the bank, and there’s a long line or whatever I’m doing... I’m like, “You know what? This is my time on planet Earth and God gave me a gift of life. Let me enjoy this. Let me be here with the people that I love.”
