Miss America: The Personal Reason I'm Fighting Against Sex Abuse

Mallory Hagan, crowned Miss America on Saturday, joined HuffPost Live Monday to discuss her thoughts on gun control, her home in Brooklyn's Park Slope and her fight against sexual abuse in America.

"Many of the women in my family were sexually abused as children," Hagan told host Ahmed Shihab-Eldin. "I was very fortunate that I did not experience any of it myself."

Hagan now works with a number of organizations combating sexual abuse across the country. "By becoming involved with "Stop It Now," "Safe Horizons" and "Childhood Abuse Prevention Program", I have been able to actually reach out and find a way we can really reach children with the message."
